Siyi Gong [sɨ i ɡʊŋ] is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her research examines how humans leverage cognitive abilities to achieve social coordination through communication, cooperation, learning, and innovation. She investigates the cognitive mechanisms underlying how people interpret communicative signals from actions, commit to a shared representation during cooperative activities, learn effectively with Artificial Intelligence (AI), and generate novel and useful cultural knowledge. Her work integrates behavioral experiments with computational modeling, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Large Language Model (LLM)-assisted analysis.
